Healthy Living - Land Classes

 


FOR HEALTHY LIVING Improving the nation’s health and well-being.

(Included in membership. Must Register weekly online.)

Classes held at 490 Midland Ave unless otherwise indicated
Members Free/Non Members $20 per class    Third party rates starts 9/1/25 $2.50 per class (unless meeting attendance criteria)

 

BODY SCULPT: A class using weights to build and tone your muscles. No high impact, Interval/fusion.  Tuesdays 5:45 p.m. Hybrid. Zoom link or in person available.

TOTAL BODY WORKOUT: Aerobics and strength that will get your blood pumping and tone your body. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 6:00-7:00 a.m.  And Saturday’s 8am.   490 Midland Ave (instructor will contact you if working out at 20th century park--weather permitting)

YOGALATES:  A perfect mix of yoga and Pilates. This class will help you relax while strengthening your muscles and giving your body an overall leaning and lengthening work out. Mondays 6:30pm and Thursdays 6:30pm. Virtual on Zoom.

 

ZUMBA: A fusion of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps to the tune of international music. An intense, energetic, dance-aerobics workout, no dance experience required. Zumba is fun and energetic, Latin-based dance exercise featuring salsa, flamenco, meringue, mambo, samba, afro-Caribbean, belly dance and more. Zumba turns exercise into a dance party and can burn 500 to 700 calories in an hour. Monday’s 7:00-8:00 p.m. in Person. Weds at 7pm Virtual via zoom.  (Saturday Zumba—Hybrid (in  person/zoom) coming July 5th 915am

 

ENERGY MEDICINE YOGA:  This class integrates yoga and Eden Energy Medicine to greatly increase your strength, health and resiliency, by incorporating simple techniques into your existing discipline, you can achieve      energy, vitality and balance in a brand new way.  Thursday’s 730 pm and Saturday’s 1030am

RESTORATIVE YOGA:  Restore balance to your body while connecting to your breath, connect to your body in movement. Namaste”   Wednesday 11am and Sunday’s 1pm  in person

BASIC WEIGHT TRAINING:  Join us in the weight room to build strength using proper techniques with the equipment.  Did you know weight training can help control weight, stop bone loss, improve balance and boost energy levels? Gather these benefits plus core strength and stamina as you build your fitness skills.  Fridays 6:00 am 490 Midland Ave, Weight Room

POWER HOUR:  If you‘re looking to get fitter and stronger, this an ideal class to take. Power Hour bootcamp strength training is a full-body workout that is both cardio and muscular intensive. It triggers positive feelings as a result of endorphin secretion within the brain and nervous system after working out, reducing stress, increasing relaxation and improving sleep quality. With regular strength training better fitness is not a matter of if, just a matter of when.     Sunday 10am in person

STEP TONE STRENGTH:  Enjoy a step class with added strength training.  In person Wednesday 6pm

SILVER SNEAKER CLASS SERIES: Have fun and move to music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. (all classes are 1/2 sitting and 1/2 standing)   Monday, Wednesday and Friday’s  at 10:30-11:15 a.m. (In person at 33 Outwater Lane) Monday Chair Yoga, Wednesday Classic SS and Friday Fun exercise day.  No Friday classes on the 3rd Friday of each month due to a Senior Party. (ask front desk for details)   Starting Sept 1 2025– silver sneaker members and Y paid members are free / Renew Active/Ash fitness will pay third party rate $25  Non Members $85 for the month. 

 

SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAMS

DDD:  Thru the Division Of Developmental Disabilities, receive a membership and have access to cardio and strength training  equipment, group fitness classes, lap swimming and virtual fitness.  Aqua fitness, Group and  private swim lessons are also available. Healthy Living - Aquatics

**summer has different hours**

Water Workout: If you would like to exercise in the water with no impact on the joints without lifting weights, this is the class for you. The exercises consist of resistance movements combined with muscle toning for a 45 minute class that will get you moving. This program is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:15am to 11:00am $15  for members and $75.00 for non-members. 4 Week Session 2 classes a week  summer hours  Summer 915am-10a

Aquacise: An aerobics class in the pool! Monday and Wednesdays from 9:00-10:00 a.m. $20 for members and $80.00 for non-members OR Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00am-10:00am  $20 for members and $80 for non-members. 4 Week Session. 2 classes a week   summer: m/w 815am-915am   t/th 8am-9am

Adult Swim Lessons: Everyone should know how to swim and the YMCA gives you the opportunity to learn from the beginning or to brush up on your skills. Beginner and Advanced classes during the week in evenings.

(must be a paying member to receive member rate, Third party members do not qualify for member rate )

Private Swim Lessons: One on one instruction to help even the most intimidated swimmer be comfortable in the water or the advanced swimmer perfects their technique. Non Member $80 1/2 hr  Member $40 1/2 hr
