Dance your bodys way in Nia

Move your body with joy in Nia 

Nia (pronounced NEE-ah, which stands for ‘Neuromuscular Integrative Action) is a sensory-based movement lifestyle that draws from disciplines of the martial arts  (aikido, tai chi, taekwondo), dance arts (jazz, modern, Duncan—a nature- and art-based approach to dance) and healing arts (yoga, Alexander technique, Feldenkrais). Classes are taken barefoot to soul-stirring music, and offer unique combinations of 52 moves that correspond with the main areas of the body: the base, the core and the upper extremities.

Co- founder Debbie Rosas says “There’s magic that happens when one stops thinking and starts focusing attention on what the body is saying and what the sensations are telling us. Your relationship with your body is the most important relationship in your life.”

 The intensity of a Nia class is up to you. While focused on seeking joy, your body's way will move you. 

This new program is offered on Mondays from 7-8 p.m. at 70 Outwater Lane. First class of the session is 1/2/17. Current promotions apply to class. Register today!
