If you would like to exercise in the water with no impact on the joints without lifting weights, this is the class for you. The exercises consist of resistance movements combined with muscle toning for a 45 minute class that will get you moving. This program is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15-10:00 a.m. $10 for Sr. members , $20 for members and $75.00 for non-members. Drop in Rate: $15

Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program
For those of you who suffer from arthritis or who are just looking to improve your range of motion and flexibility, The YMCA offers a slow moving class in the shallow end of the pool to get you moving. Classes are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. $10 for Sr. members, $20 members, and $75.00 for non-members. Drop in Rate: $15.
It’s an aerobics class in the shallow end of the pool! Water eases the pounding on joints and muscles that some people might feel when exercising in the gym. Adult Swim Lessons
Everyone should know how to swim and the YMCA gives you the opportunity to learn from the beginning or to brush up on your skills. Classes are either Mondays at 8:00 p.m. or Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. or Sundays 9:15-10:00 a.m. Cost is $20 for members and $90.00 for non-members
Perfect for athletes ready to tackle their first triathlon or the seasoned triathlete who would like to improve their technique, speed, and endurance. This class will help beginner and intermediate swimmers to develop greater confidence and efficiency in the water while providing low impact cross training. An on deck coach leads the weekly workout sessions which include stroke technique instruction and drill work, open water skills practice, and structured interval sets. Mondays 8-9:45 p.m. Cost is $25 for members and $85 for non-members.

This is a 60 minute total body workout. A moderate to high intensity workout revolving around intervals of cardio, mixed with strength/conditioning exercises to give you a balanced workout. Classes will he held outside so prepare to get dirty, bring a towel. First week the program will meet at 20th Century Field located on Elizabeth St in Garfield. BRANCEE CARDIO BELLY DANCE CLASS
A unique Cardio Belly Dancing fitness program that is inspired by Turkish, Egyptian and Asian dancing designed to keep you fit. This class may just surprise you and you will keep coming back for more!! This dance utilizes the abdomen, trunk, spine and neck, working with the body instead of against it. This class combines both a cardiovascular and aerobic workout while, improving posture, toning muscle, and reducing stress. Participants will learn connection, isolation and expression. Anyone can belly dance! Try it for yourself to see! Wednesdays 12:00-12:45. First time participants must bring $15 to class to buy hip scarf from instructor. (If you have one, you may use your own.) Hip scarves will be used in every class and help with learning body isolation. Free for members, Non Members $50. Drop in Rate: $15.

The eight-session program assists Hispanic families with children 12 and under to make healthy choices for eating and incorporate activity into their daily lives, getting the whole family involved.
Senior Activities Program
Meets once a month for a party! These parties are usually held after a silver sneakers class, about 11:30 a.m. Every month, members who are celebrating a birthday will be honored, including holiday celebrations with a
costume party for Halloween. Participants pay a small price to cover lunch and the fun and entertainment is provided. Our seniors have been known to sing at their parties, bring in baked goods, homemade dishes, etc… Parties meet at 70 Outwater Lane, are usually held the second week of the month. The sign up sheet for parties is located at 33 Outwater Lane. 2-3 times a year our group meets outside of the Y at a restaurant for their party!

SILVER SNEAKERS YOGA
Yoga Stretch will teach a blend of three yoga styles to create a harmony of movement for the whole body. STEP MEGA MIX
The Class will incorporate body sculpting, cardio and circuit training with a Reebok step. Each week participants will enjoy a new work out routine. Tuesdays 6:30-7:30 p.m. Great for all levels of fitness. $10 members, $50 non-members. Drop in rate: $15
This class is taught by a certified yoga instructor. The class incorporates all aspects of yoga: physical (asana) breathing (pranayama) deep relaxation and meditation. Class is held on Monday evenings from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. Cost is $20 for members and $120 for non-members. A fusion of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps to the tune of international music. An intense, energetic, dance-aerobics workout, no dance experience required. Zumba is fun and energetic, Latin-based dance exercise featuring salsa, flamenco, meringue, mambo, samba, afro-carribean, belly dance and more. Zumba turns exercise into a dance party and can burn 500 to 700 calories in an hour. Class are one hour long. Tuesdays 12:00 or Thursdays 7:00 p.m. or Saturdays 9:00 a.m. $10 members, $50 non-members.

All abilities and levels welcome as your instructor leads the group with a warm up, ride and cool down . Your ride will consist of hills, climbs, maximum exertion, and pleasant straight aways. Your instructor will motivate you to stay focused and push yourself, but it’s up to you to choose your comfort level. All classes are 45 minutes long. A Fitness Bootcamp Class is an intense interval training and strength training class. It starts with a strong cardiovascular workout that includes plyometrics and in place cardio exercises that are sure to leave you dripping sweat; while improving resistance and increasing stamina. Follow by weight training that will condition and tone arms, legs and chest. Later, class will move on to an intense abdominal work out, pilates exercises as well as other killer core exercises. Last but not least, a relaxing stretch section that will target all areas of the body and will introduce yoga poses. In any Bootcamp class we will utilize a variety of fitness equipment such as 3 and 5lbs. weights, medicine balls, power bars, cones, yoga mats, chairs and much more to make our classes enjoyable and different every time. If you are looking to maximize you calorie burning count, rest assured that we will burn over 600 calories easily and if you want to increase your fitness level, this class will leave you gasping for air.
